For our first post, we would like to recommend this research from OpRaise, entitled ‘AI in University Assessment: Evaluating the Opportunities and Risks of Automated Marking’.
The team assessed AI marking abilities and found that, although they possess highly impressive capabilities, they still weren’t good enough to replace human markers. We thought this was a good piece to share as it’s a pleasant reminder that a human element is still needed in the age of AI. Notably, student feedback indicated that they want human feedback as part of the social contract between teacher and student.
